About
The Social Studies Teacher Education Program, grounded in a contemporary and democratic understanding of education, aims to educate social studies teachers who possess the capacity and competence to raise future generations in line with both the needs and requirements of our country and those of the modern age. In addition to strengthening students’ professional knowledge and experience, the program also places great importance on supporting sports, arts, communication, and cultural activities that foster their personal development and enhance their creativity and social relationships.
General Information
In addition to theoretical knowledge, the program offers courses in practice and community service, through which our students gain direct experience in matters related to education and instruction and develop professional experience in the teaching profession. Since the program generally adopts a learning-oriented approach to education and aims to ensure students’ active participation in the learning process, a student-centered approach to teaching prevails.
Education
The Social Studies Teacher Education Program offers a four-year undergraduate education. The language of instruction is Turkish.
Facilities
Our students have the opportunity to take courses from an academic staff composed of experts and experienced scholars in their field, and they have access to library services as well as books, encyclopedias, dictionaries, and periodicals related to their area of study. In addition, our division places great importance on teaching practicum courses so that students can apply what they have learned in real educational settings. Thanks to technological teaching tools, our students also have the opportunity to study in multimedia learning environments.
Career Opportunities
Our graduates may work as teachers in schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education as well as in private schools. They may also work as specialists or researchers in other institutions.
